- ➤ After a scrimmage with Des Moines East on Aug. 22, head coach Scott Heitland said the Mustangs are excited about moving from Class 4A to 5A and will open their regular season in Urbandale. He said the team—led by returning quarterback Chase Engel and tight end Jackson Reis—is set to face tougher metro competition with greater discipline. The Des Moines Register
