- ➤ The Iowa State Fair announced that Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Rod Stewart and rising country star Lainey Wilson will perform on Aug. 14 and Aug. 16 during the 2026 fair from Aug. 13 to 23, with tickets available on sale starting Dec. 12 at iowastatefair.org. The Des Moines Register
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Iowa law allows selling used mattresses if sellers clean them properly and disclose any issues (unsanitary conditions may lead to legal action). Buyers are advised to check the condition before purchase. The Des Moines Register
- ➤ Des Moines metro nurses at four UnityPoint hospitals voted on unionizing with Teamsters Local 90 from Dec. 7-10, but 251 challenged ballots remain under review by the NLRB, leaving the result pending. The initial counts were 871 in favor and 666 opposed. The Des Moines Register
