- ➤ The Des Moines Pickleball Team Classic was held at Dink’s Pickleball at Merle Hay Mall—over 200 players took part to raise money for a local children’s hospital. Tournament directors Kylie Kolz and Derek Johnson said previous tournaments raised $44,000, and this year all proceeds went to Blank Children’s Hospital. WHO 13
- ➤ Influential central Iowa developer, businessman and philanthropist Bill Knapp died Saturday morning at 99. Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds said his legacy as a self-made entrepreneur— dedicated civic leader will continue to impact Des Moines for generations. KCCI

- ➤ Food & Water Watch, Progress Iowa, Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement and the Harkin Institute held a Water Quality Solutions Townhall in Des Moines on Saturday—organizers explained water quality challenges and called on lawmakers to act for cleaner water—.
