- ➤ In week 7 high school football, Gazette-area teams won key games with West Delaware beating Charles City 42-27, Decorah defeating Mason City 58-13, Central DeWitt edging Mount Vernon 33-24, Belle Plaine outscoring HLV-TC 52-26, West Branch toppling Anamosa 23-3, and Newton winning 31-19 over Clear Creek Amana.
