ACCIDENTS NEWS

EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Des Moines Public Schools has named veteran educator Matt Smith as interim superintendent after Ian Roberts was arrested for immigration violations—Smith will serve under a two-year contract through the 2026–27 school year. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Food and nutrition advocates warned that a prolonged government shutdown could cut food assistance for low-income mothers, babies and young children in the WIC program — over 60,000 participate and the National WIC Association said federal funds may last only about another week.
