- ➤ Final numbers show Iowa collected $8.8 billion in the general fund for the budget year ended in June, nearly $200 million below March projections and down 8.1% from last year—largely because of state tax cuts. - ➤ Ten years ago, on October 4, 2015, workers set off a planned implosion that demolished the Riverfront YMCA at 101 Locust St.—a decision born from a long debate over preserving its civil rights-era murals and mid-century design.
