CRIME NEWS
- ➤ The Ankeny Chamber of Commerce is suing its former president and CEO Melisa Cox after she pleaded guilty in April to stealing over $250,000 — the lawsuit seeks more than $300,000 in damages for theft, fraud and related costs following her dismissal in November after an internal audit, and she was sentenced in July to five years probation for four felony charges. - ➤ DMPS board chair Jackie Norris said the board will sue JG Consulting—responsible for recruiting former superintendent Ian Roberts—because the firm did not properly vet candidates. The Des Moines Register
