- ➤ A federal appeals court ruled Friday that a 2023 rule for calculating electric vehicle fuel efficiency is unlawful after Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird and a coalition of states argued the change unfairly favored EVs and increased road wear and greenhouse gas emissions—upsetting policies thought to boost electric vehicles over traditional fuels. Bird said the decision is a win for Iowa ethanol and challenges the Biden administration's approach to fuel standards. The Des Moines Register
