- ➤ The Young Professionals Connection announced its 2025-26 Board of Directors (with Cecily Robinson as Past President and Reilly Smidt as 2025 President) and filled key roles while leaving two board positions open with applications accepted until August 18. - ➤ A multi-vehicle crash in Urbandale blocked the ramp from IA 141 onto 35-80 as stalled and emergency vehicles slowed westbound lanes, while additional crashes near Clive in a busy construction zone and along I-35 near Oralabor Road in Ankeny slowed southbound traffic by about five minutes. KCCI

- ➤ James Chung, president of Reach Advisors, will serve as the keynote speaker at the 2025 Greater Des Moines Regional Summit on Sept. 17 at the Iowa Events Center. - ➤ Dr. Jay Jensen, a former West Des Moines dentist with six malpractice claims, was sanctioned for the third time by the Iowa Dental Board. The board imposed a $1,500 civil penalty and restricted his expired Iowa license (he now lives in Austin) from allowing implant dentistry and restorations. The Des Moines Register

- ➤ Bondurant leaders broke ground on Grain District, a 25-acre project that will change old grain silos into a mixed-use center with shops, homes and a community space. The T12 Distillery—the first fully wheelchair-accessible distillery in the US—is set to open in late spring and will mark the start of further retail and housing developments at the site.
