- ➤ On July 10th, Des Moines police closed the Waveland Golf Course on the south side after a suspicious device was found near a hole, and the Bomb Squad safely detonated the improvised explosive device + officers then searched the area and collected evidence. Radio Iowa
- ➤ Iowa State Patrol troopers chased a suspect through Des Moines and followed the chase into Fairmont Park Neighborhood to a residence in the 2900 block of East 22nd Court — authorities are now searching for the suspect and attempting to make an arrest. KCCI

- ➤ Paul McCartney announced his first North American tour since 2022 + he will perform in Des Moines at Casey’s Center on Oct. 14 + tickets go on sale July 18. The Gazette

- ➤ On July 10, Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird announced that Iowa will receive up to $5.4 million from a national opioid settlement involving eight drug manufacturers.
