A heavy downpour on July 3 caused Fourmile Creek to flood Parkside East, forcing 144 families to evacuate and displacing 32 for months while repairs are made; Conlin Properties is meeting displaced residents at local shelters today to help rehome them.

Nearly 150 residents displaced by flood damage at Parkside East Apartments will meet with management tomorrow at Hilltop Apartments Community Center on Hubbell Avenue + Hoyt Middle School to discuss rehoming options; repairs have begun and recovery will take months.

Due to construction, the Iowa DOT will close I-80 westbound from the mixmaster to Grand Prairie Parkway at 8:30 p.m. today (closure lasts until 5 a.m. Tuesday) in West Des Moines, with drivers advised to follow detour signs via University Avenue (60th Street on-ramp closed until Thanksgiving).
