- ➤ A woman nearly drowned at Gray’s Lake Park on July 4 and was taken in critical condition to Unity Point Methodist Medical Center after emergency responders arrived at about 4:30 p.m.—police said they are still investigating the incident and assured that the park is safe. The Des Moines Register
- ➤ An adult female was hospitalized in critical condition after a near-drowning at Gray’s Lake Park just after 4:30 p.m.—first responders arrived following a 911 call and began lifesaving efforts while an investigation continues and park users remain safe. WHO 13

- ➤ Des Moines Police Department is asking for help to locate 61-year-old Maria Lopez-Nunez who was last seen July 2 on Norton Avenue in the Mondamin Presidential neighborhood — anyone with information is urged to call 911. The Des Moines Register
