After a call before 4:30 p.m. Saturday, first responders rescued a child from the Des Moines River near SE 6th St. Bridge and deployed a team to search for an adult male in the water, but the Des Moines Fire and Police Departments suspended their search for the evening — the investigation is ongoing.
