  • Guinness World Records adjudicators confirmed UScellular’s 507-foot mini golf hole at Cowles Commons in downtown Des Moines broke the record on Saturday, June 21—this record-breaking hole was the highlight of the Unplug and Play Day event and will travel to Cedar Rapids on June 28, Green Bay on July 12 and Bangor on July 26.  The Des Moines Register

  • Extreme heat buckled part of West First Street in front of Northwest Elementary in Ankeny over the weekend—police reported one eastbound lane remains closed and said updates on reopening will be posted soon.  KCCI

  • Vintage in the Valley will be held this Sunday at Water Works Park’s Lauridsen Amphitheater from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., marking its first year at the new site—organizer Christina Crook said about 100 vendors will offer vintage clothing, jewelry, and household items along with food trucks and live music.  WHO 13
