- ➤ The Animal Rescue League of Iowa and the Des Moines Area Religious Council held a drive-through pet food giveaway at DMARC on Saturday — cars received a case of dog food donated by The Farmer’s Dog that can feed a pet for about a month. The ARL said the event is part of a long-term partnership that has already distributed 40,000 pounds of pet food this year and DMARC Food Pantry still offers help for those who missed the drive. - ➤ An American Airlines flight made an emergency landing at Des Moines International Airport Saturday morning after a mechanical issue forced it to turn around—119 people were on board. KCCI
- ➤ American Airlines flight 449 took off with 119 passengers from Des Moines International at 6:05 a.m. yesterday on a Chicago-bound trip but returned at 6:40 a.m. due to a mechanical issue, with crews investigating the cause while some passengers were rebooked onto other flights.
