- ➤ A male was injured in a shooting in the Drake Neighborhood just before 6 p.m. when officers responded to reports of gunfire on the 1500 block of 32nd Street, and he drove from the scene before crashing near MLK Jr Parkway and Meek Avenue while police detained a suspect and recovered a handgun amid an ongoing investigation. - ➤ The Iowa State Fair Blue Ribbon Foundation announced that Abigail Bieker from Harlan won the T-shirt contest with her stamp design showing fair favorites like the butter cow, pie and the Sky Glider.
