- ➤ Tamale's Industry closed its Merle Hay Mall location after 12 years but will serve customers via its food trailer + at the Des Moines Farmers' Market this weekend, the business said on Facebook. The closure ends one chapter while its journey continues. KCCI

- ➤ Iowa Ag Secretary Mike Naig, Fair CEO Jeremy Parsons, and 4-H and FFA representatives planted a bur oak (the official Iowa 250 tree) at the State Fairgrounds Friday as part of a plan to plant 250 trees celebrating the nation's birthday. Radio Iowa

- ➤ A new Iowa State University Rural Life Poll found that only about 22% of local farmers used drones last year; most hired specialized services for field scouting and spraying. - ➤ A broad health bill is headed to Governor Kim Reynolds’ desk after Senate (30-16) and House (61-31) votes approve proposals that ban specific food additives in school meals, require nutrition coursework for med students, and set limits on screen time while mandating physical activity for early grades. - ➤ A toddler in central Iowa is making progress after receiving a first-of-its-kind Botox treatment from MercyOne Des Moines for a rare abdominal defect. He is now learning to walk with physical therapy while his parents plan for future surgeries. KCCI
