- ➤ Iowa's high school graduation rate hit 88.8% last year, a half-point increase over 2024 and the best rate in five years, state education officials said, meaning nearly 1,000 more graduates for the class of 2025, although support for English language learners remains necessary. KCCI
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Iowa State University researchers found bee-free prairie plots produced 27% fewer plant species than plots with bees, showing how bee activity boosts plant diversity. The study began four years ago & is ongoing as researchers continue monitoring the restored prairie plots. Radio Iowa

- ➤ On Monday, Iowans ran in the 130th Boston Marathon. Des Moines’ John Taylor (67) completed his 31st race in 5 hours, 45 minutes and 26 seconds after hip surgery, while Philip Hodges (78) of Urbandale and two 20-year-old runners from Waverly and Council Bluffs finished the course. KCCI
