  • Iowa's only billionaire, Harry Stine (83) of Adel, saw his net worth climb from $9.7 billion last year to over $10 billion in 2025 as he expanded his agriculture empire through licensing deals with major companies (Monsanto and Syngenta).  The Des Moines Register

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Drivers using Interstate 80 and 35 and US 6 Hickman Road will face ramp closures starting April 21 as part of an interchange project, with detours in effect until mid-August. The Iowa Department of Transportation said drivers will use a detour via Douglas Avenue + Douglas Parkway + Northwest 128th Street + University Avenue.  The Des Moines Register

HEALTH NEWS

  • 31-year-old Christina Crowley finished a 5K run Saturday with family and friends after six rounds of chemotherapy—she began training in February—and she will learn on Wednesday if she is cancer-free.  KCCI
  • Catholic Health Initiatives-Iowa dropped its legal argument that an unborn child is not a 'patient' for damage calculations—its stance conflicted with its mission of protecting life from conception. At a Polk County court hearing on Friday, MercyOne also withdrew its motion in the malpractice case, and the trial is set for May 12.  The Des Moines Register
