  • Lutheran Services in Iowa has been chosen to lead the Evelyn K. Davis Center for Working Families - ensuring the center keeps its services running and builds new community ties. The leadership transition will be complete by July 1 while the center remains at its current location.  The Des Moines Register

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Local experts advise residents to protect cars by moving them indoors or using hail blankets and to secure homes by promptly repairing roofs and windows as spring storms increase hail-related claims (industry reports show higher repair costs).  The Des Moines Register

  • Iowa DOT announced an emergency closure for I-35 northbound lanes between Huxley and Ames starting at 11 p.m. Wednesday; lanes reopened at 5 a.m. today with a detour set at the Exit 102 ramp to Highway 30 in Ames.  KCCI
