- ➤ Plans to light up the north and west sides of Waveland Golf Course at 4908 University Ave were scrapped on March 12 after neighbors raised concerns about light pollution and wildlife impact — community feedback during a public meeting led operator C-Corporation to cancel the $1.5 million project. - ➤ Iowa State Fair announced a new $30 Advance Thrill Pass (50 credits included) that lets fairgoers ride games at Thrill Ville and Thrill Town. The pass is available until Aug. 12, while the fair runs from Aug. 13-23. The Des Moines Register
