  • The Monarch Apartments in Des Moines, converted from a former Days Inn Hotel by Anawim Housing, will offer permanent housing and social support to at least 40 homeless individuals, with on-site resources like case management.  The Des Moines Register

  • A Des Moines man, Andi Cardenas, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for a fatal crash caused while intoxicated, killing Jose Clark.  KCCI
  • Shawnna Cunningham plans to plead guilty to federal gun charges after her fiance used a firearm she purchased to shoot two Des Moines police officers.  The Des Moines Register
  • Des Moines police are investigating a shooting in the Lower Beaver neighborhood that resulted in the deaths of two individuals, including a 15-year-old, with the victims believed to have been friends.  KCCI
